Privacy policy

Effective May 5, 2026. This policy explains what Category Is Travel LLC collects when you use this website, why each item exists, and how to ask us to delete it.

1. The short version

We collect the minimum needed to run a flight search and reply to email. We do not sell your data, we do not run third-party advertising trackers, and the only personal data we store on a server is the contents of contact-form messages you choose to send.

2. Who we are

3. Data we collect

3.1 Search inputs (browser only)

The flight-search panel saves your last From and To values in your own browser’s localStorage so they are pre-filled next time. This data never leaves your device. Clear it from your browser’s site-data settings at any time.

3.2 Contact-form messages

When you submit the contact form, the message goes through FormSubmit and lands in our fares@categoryistravel.com mailbox hosted on Microsoft 365. We keep email correspondence for 24 months for follow-up; we delete it on request earlier.

3.3 Server access logs

The site is served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare keeps short-lived access logs (IP address, user-agent, requested URL) for security purposes. We do not pull those logs into our own analytics. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

3.4 Outbound deeplinks

When you click View deal on a search result, the click leaves our site and lands on Kayak (or the airline directly, in the case of Southwest). Their privacy notice applies from that point on.

4. What we do not collect

  • No third-party advertising or tracking pixels (no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no TikTok pixel).
  • No fingerprinting, session replay, or heatmap tools.
  • No payment details — we do not have a checkout.
  • No phone-number scraping — the phone field on the contact form is optional and is only used to call you back.

5. Cookies

See the dedicated Cookie policy for the exact list. In short: a single first-party preference cookie, plus localStorage for your last route and consent timestamp.

6. Your rights

Whether you are in the US, the EU, the UK, or California, you can email fares@categoryistravel.com at any time and ask us to:

  • Tell you what data of yours we hold.
  • Delete that data.
  • Correct any inaccuracy.
  • Send the data to you in a portable format.

We respond inside 30 days. If your inquiry relates to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), include “CCPA request” in the subject line.

7. Children

The site is intended for travelers 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted a contact form, write to us and we will delete the message.

8. Changes

If we materially change this policy we will post the new effective date at the top of the page and, where we hold an active conversation, email anyone affected.
